Evaluations
The General Statement of Equivalency describes foreign documents, degrees, certificates, and diplomas in US terms, and assigns each their equivalent in the educational system of the United States.
The Detailed Evaluation of Coursework is a course-by-course evaluation of work completed at foreign institutions and resembles a US transcript. This information is pertinent when a detailed explanation of the documents is needed for purposes of teacher certification, professional licensing, or placement into post-secondary institutions.
The ABET Evaluation is a specialized report for clients who are applying for licensure with a state engineering board. Its purpose is to compare the results of a Detailed Evaluation of Coursework (see above) against specific academic profiles developed by The
Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Only the licensing board to which you are applying can tell you whether or not an ABET Evaluation will be required.

Files are generally processed and prepared for mailing
approximately 2 weeks from the date when all needed materials have been received. This time frame may vary depending upon the number of cases currently in process or whether additional research is required.
Foreign Credentials Service of America maintains a comprehensive library of materials associated with the evaluation of foreign and domestic credentials and updates this information as new materials become available. All evaluations will be based on the most current information available. Placement recommendations as approved by The National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Academic Credentials are used as guidelines when available.
Submitting Documents for Evaluation
FCSA requires you submit copies (both back and front) of all official educational documents. In most cases, photocopies, faxes or scanned copies submitted via e-mail are acceptable.
Exception: If you are applying for board licensure, you may need to submit original documents in a sealed envelope from your institution. Please

Generally, we need your records beginning from your secondary or upper secondary studies, particularly when applying as an undergraduate to a US institution. When seeking licensure, graduate admissions, or H-1 status, post secondary records are sufficient.
Credentials submitted become the property of FCSA. If you submit a document that is hard to obtain, you can request that the original be returned to you after we have completed the evaluation.
For a General Statement of Equivalency, you will need to provide photocopies of official documents, awards of degrees, certificates and diplomas. The Detailed Evaluation of course work, if requested, will require submission of photocopies of all transcripts and marksheets, as well as awards of degrees, certificates, and diplomas
If falsified documents are submitted to FCSA, there will be no refund of payments or return of documents, and the forgery will be reported to the designated recipients of the report as well as academic institutions, evaluation services, and government agencies. If you submit an application and do not complete it, FCSA will keep your documents on file for 2 years from the date of application. After 2 years, you will need to submit a new application, documents and application fee.
