HOW DO I SUBMIT A FOREIGN CREDENTIALS APPLICATION?
In order to complete a foreign credentials application, you will need to submit the following:

  • Special FCSA/UT Pan Am application. You can get an application by clicking the links above or from UTPA at the Office of International Admissions and Services or the Office of Graduate Studies.
  • Payment of $110 for a detailed evaluation. This includes a US equivalency of your studies, and a transcript listing course titles, semester hours completed, grades, an overall GPA and an upper division course GPA.
  • Educational documents. Documents must be sent directly from your university(ies), in sealed envelopes, to FCSA at 1910 Justin Lane, Austin TX 78757-2411. Documents provided by the applicant, even if sealed, will not be accepted. You can contact your institution directly or you can use request forms available on this website or at UTPA. Please instruct your institution to include your course titles and grades (transcript), and evidence of award of degree if you finished your studies.

TRANSLATIONS: Please read carefully and follow instructions.
FCSA accepts the following without translation: English, Spanish, and documents that are translated into English by the issuing university.

Documents in any language other than English or Spanish should be sent in the native language, sealed, from the university, directly to FCSA. FCSA will have the documents translated by inlingua, our translating partner. Inlingua is a worldwide company that translates all major languages for reasonable prices. Transcripts cost from between $125-145 and diplomas cost between $95-125 and take 2 to 3 days to complete. Do not submit your transcripts to inlingua. FCSA will do that for you using the following process:

      1) FCSA receives your educational documents in a sealed envelope from your institution.
      2) FCSA submits the documents for translation to inlingua..
      3) Inlingua contacts you to give you the price of the translation and negotiate payment.
      4) Inlingua does the translation, then sends one copy to you and one to FCSA

Further information on inlingua is available at www.inlingua.com

HOW LONG WILL THE EVALUATION TAKE?
Evaluations will be completed approximately two weeks after all documents, including translation, are received. A 3-day rush service is available. Please see the application for information on extra copies, overnight mailing, and other options
