
FCSA Advisory Board
The FCSA Advisory Board was founded by Dr. Paver in 2003. The board consists of nationally recognized professionals in higher education and applied comparative education and exists to provide expert guidance for FCSA. The Board assists in the identification of best practices in the evaluation of international credentials for the purposes of:
- Placement at U.S. institutions of higher education
- Board licensure for accounting, engineering, teacher certification, etc.
- Evaluation of foreign credentials for the purposes of immigration.

Stephen S. Janes is Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a joint appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor in Educational Administration at the University. His duties include a variety of legal and contractual assignments and providing other services to the Vice President. Mr. Janes has extensive experience in student financial assistance and higher education law. He has served as a consultant to a wide variety of clients in the governmental and private sectors. |

Johnny Kent Johnson's 35 years in international education includes administrative and teaching positions at two-year and four-year colleges and universities, both public and private, in the United States, Asia and the Caribbean. Among the positions held by Mr. Johnson at his alma mater, the University of Kentucky, are Director of Graduate Admissions and Director of Student Services in the UK Medical Center.
Mr. Johnson has served on the following Boards of Directors: the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) as Vice President for International Education; the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) as Vice President for Regional Affairs; and the California Colleges for International Education (CCIE) as Vice President for Northern California.
Research, publication, conference presentation, business and leisure travel have taken Mr. Johnson to more than 70 countries. |

Gloria Nathanson is Associate Director for Undergraduate Admission and Relations with Schools at UCLA. Her position focuses on coordination of international selection, development of recruitment and marketing publications, budgeting and planning, policy development, and special project oversight and management. Ms. Nathanson has been an active member of AACRAO and NAFSA, having served as AACRAO Vice President for International Education from 2000 to 2003. She has written numerous publications on international admission. |

As Assistant to the Vice President at UT Austin, Paul Pedersen is responsible for recruitment of and event coordination for incoming honors students, and for coordinating interdisciplinary programming and enrichment opportunities for undergraduate honors students. Mr. Pedersen also works closely with the VP for Student Affairs to plan and implement educational programming, coordinating participation from academic and student affairs units. In 2002, he was president of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and was president of Texas Association for College Admissions Counseling (TACAC) in 2000 and 2001. |

Shelby Stanfield has been Director of Student Information Systems at UT Austin since 2000. He coordinates the information technology resources for the Division of Student Affairs, especially within the admissions and registrars offices. Mr. Stanfield also manages the development and administration of the Texas Common Application for Admission web site and supporting systems. He was the AACRAO representative to the International Education Data Collection Committee (IEDC) from 1995-97 and is currently a member of the AACRAO Professional Resource Panel in the area of technical and information systems. |

Robert Watkins is Assistant Director of Admissions in the Graduate and International Admissions Center of The University of Texas at Austin where he has served since 1977. Member of NAFSA and AACRAO, he has made numerous presentations on international admission issues at conferences of both organizations. He is a past ADSEC Chair in NAFSA and has also served as NAFSA representative with the National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Educational Credentials, 1992-2000, chairing the Council from 1996-2000. Currently a member of the IPAC Committee for AACRAO, Mr. Watkins co-authored with others the PIER Canada (1989) and PIER Philippines (2001) Workshop Reports. He also has chaired the NCAA Foreign Student Records Committee since 2001. |
